Prayer Guide – Week 48 (July 31-Aug 06)

This week's prayer focus is for Tokyo, Japan. Please cry out to God for our capital city.

With a metropolitan area of over 37 million people, Tokyo is the world's largest city. In terms of cultural and economic influence, it is a powerhouse throughout Asia and the world. Despite its lofty position, Tokyo has yet to know its Creator and is desperate for a Savior.

Suicide rates are horrifyingly high as the big city ironically can be the loneliest place. Tokyo is a place of high living standards and wealth, but yet of tragic spiritual poverty. Imagine what God will do through this city when it hears His voice! It very well might be the key to the accomplishment of the Great Commission for this city to be won for Christ.

• Pray for the many Church plants across the city. Pray that they will attract many Japanese people.
• Please pray for God's Kingdom to come to Tokyo - even the gates of Hell won't stop it. Come Lord Jesus!

"The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." - Luke 10:2

• Pray that the Father will call out a new generation of pastors in Japan, where many pastors are already beyond retirement age.
• Japan is a nation of hardworking people. Pray that they will find rest for their souls in God’s unfailing, everlasting arms.
• Pray that Japanese in the cities where missionaries are located will be unable to resist or reject His love that is so awesomely and yet so tenderly given.
• Japan is at a point in its history where it is experiencing unprecedented social upheaval. Pray that the uncertainty will cause many to seek God who never changes.
• Despite all the beauty and efficiency of Japan, there are wide barriers between the Japanese people and the True God. Pray that all will have a chance to know our Creator God.
• Ask God to strengthen workers as they continue to minister following the earthquake of March 2011. Pray His blessings on the Japanese who are still recovering and living in temporary housing.
• Pray that the land of the rising sun will become the Land of the Risen Son in our generation as Jesus Christ is worshiped throughout Japan.

Summer is a season that offers opportunities for family fellowship. Let us pray for family fellowship.

• Many families may be planning to participate in special events or travel. Pray for their safety and that they will be able to have beautiful fellowship.
• Pray for Christian families to have spiritual fellowship. May the Lord be testified of His presence in the fellowship of praying and loving one another.
• For those who have unsaved family members, may the Lord give them wisdom and courage to share the gospel with them.
• Pray for the health of elderly family members and that they will be able to have good fellowship with others across generations.
