Prayer Guide – Week 29 (01-07 July)

The Glory of God to come and fall and take over Japan
This week we want to pray for the Glory of God to come and fall and take over Japan and for its impact to be felt across the whole of Japan.

Habakkuk 2:14 says “That the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”

Moses asked God in Exodus 33:18 to show Moses God’s glory.

God responds to show His glory in Exodus 34:5-7 “Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with him and proclaimed his name, the Lord. And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished…”

God’s glory is His moral nature- His justice, mercy and compassion.

This week let’s pray that God’s Glory will be seen in Japan. His Justice, His Mercy and His Compassion. Pray that Christians may do whatever it takes to bring His glory to their local communities as they serve and reach out to anyone in need.

Pray for those Christian politicians who are seeking to bring God’s glory through advocating for the needs of people in communities across Japan

Pray for Christians to find more effective ways to reach out to those who are elderly, to those who are disabled, to those who are lonely

Particularly pray for the approximate 2 million hikikomori who live in Japan. Many are middle aged or elderly. For some it can be a very lonely death.

Many hikikomori fear Japanese society. Many are young people who simply retreat to their bedroom and never want to come out. Many have dropped out from society from the punishment and rigid rules. Too many of these students have either attempted suicide or have thought about it

Pray that the Church can respond to the needs around them.

Pray that the Glory of God will fall over Japan.

This is the revival we need.
