Prayer Guide – Week 23 (July 14-20)

Lord, we ask that You prepare the hearts of the Japanese people for the message of Jesus Christ. Japan is often seen as a spiritually quiet nation, but we know that under the surface, there is a longing for truth, peace, and purpose. We pray that as new churches are planted, there would be an awakening—a deep hunger for spiritual things and a readiness to receive the gospel. May the Holy Spirit go before each planter to soften hearts, break spiritual barriers, and open doors for meaningful conversations.

Jesus, You told us to ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field. We lift up a call for more laborers—Japanese believers and missionaries alike—who are willing to plant and shepherd new church communities. Give them courage, humility, and vision. Strengthen existing church planters in Japan who are sowing seeds in difficult soil. Provide them with encouragement, resources, and deep spiritual refreshment.

Father, we ask for culturally sensitive approaches to planting churches that truly resonate with the people of Japan. Let the expression of the church be authentically Japanese while being fully rooted in Scripture. Raise up local leaders with spiritual authority, wisdom, and compassion to lead these new fellowships. May the church in Japan not be seen as foreign, but as a vibrant part of Japan’s future.

God, we pray that churches, mission agencies, and denominations would work together in harmony. Let competition fall away and Kingdom cooperation rise. May church planters across Japan share resources, pray for one another, and support each other in love. Let networks be built that span cities and regions, helping each church plant to not stand alone but thrive in community.

Lord, we desire not just church plants, but healthy churches that multiply. We pray for discipleship that runs deep, communities marked by love, and leaders who raise up more leaders. May every new church become a sending church. We ask for a movement of church planting in Japan—one that brings transformation to families, neighborhoods, cities, and the entire nation for Your glory.
