The prayer of believers is the key to turning Japan to the light. Japan need you to faithfully pray for Japan. Japan needs missionaries, spirit field pastors to lead churches and to start many new fellowships but most of all Japan needs you to pray
Pray that Lord uses things that may be only indirectly related to the gospel. Some ways may be when the Bible is mentioned in the secular novels. When couples get married in Western “Christian” wedding services, children attending a Catholic or Protestant school or a mission’s university. Church kindergartens and hospitals can provide significant first steps towards Jesus.
Pray for Christian bookstores -they not only serve Christians but are also an evangelistic outpost. Christian radio and TV broadcasts encourage believers and also have a powerful evangelistic potential as well
Japanese Christians being a small minority need encouragement to be faithful. Multiple family and cultural pressures to conform in a group-oriented society make it difficult to stand up for their faith
The “graying” of Japan has become a concern along with a projected decrease in the Japanese workforce. Nursing homes have long waiting list. Pray that those in nursing homes will consider the claims of Jesus. Open them to the Good News.
Bullying among school children has become a serious social problem in Japan. Sometimes it’s not only school children but teachers also are involved in bullying,. These issues have caused a growing number of children to stay at home drop out of school and even commit suicide – some as young as 11 years old
Finally pray for Japanese people living abroad over one and a half million. The largest number is in the USA and the second largest is in China. Many who come to Faith in Christ often experience challenges when they return to Japan- struggling to fit in. Pray those who are found faith abroad or interested in the gospel may find a home in Japanese churches
