Prayer Guide – Week 07 (Nov 18-24)

This week is a little different. Let’s read Mark 4 26-29

“Jesus also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.
All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”

v27 ."He knows not how… He sleeps. The seed doesn’t depend on that person's efforts. Jesus saying kingdom grows without needs of humans. It grows by God's power

We can feel anxious when don’t see fruit or worry what people think of our ministry or when it does go well you can say this is what we did rather than giving the glory to God.

Yet the Kingdom grows without our help. V28 shows how it grows…bit by bit - it takes time and the Kingdom goes thru stages. We can’t fast forward it. Yet we want it to grow quickly and see it now.

What is God saying to you how you pray for Japan and the Kingdom to come?

Let’s pray this passage over Japan.

• Firstly praise the Father for all for those different people who planted seeds in our lives.. Many of those would have no idea what impact those seeds had on our life. Give thanks to God for each of them.
• Pray we wait patiently and trust the process just as farmer has to wait. It grows according to God's timeline
• Pray for our role. Pray we won’t sit around and wait. Pray we will be faithful as a seed sower. We know times of us seeking to be faithful and yet there are no results. Even if it looks like nothing is happening, something is happening.
• Pray we will be faithful. Even if you don’t see it the Kingdom of God is growing - the harvest will surely come but we can’t see it with our own eyes Not our efforts but it grows in Gods power.
• Pray we will look at Jesus. He came as small weak person. An unknown carpenter. On the cross most thought he was a criminal. Yet in that death something amazing happened. The seed that dies became our salvation.
• Pray for the Kingdom to advance rapidly in Japan. Pray that Japanese Christians would be faithful and that we will trust God to bring the harvest.
  Pray for the harvest to come!
